Smart watches have been around for a while now, but they aren’t as smart yet. It may take a while before we could see people wearing them, especially in emerging countries. Motorola was one of the first OEM’s to introduce a smart watch, an android wear. The first Gen. Moto 360 was a thing of beauty with a few flaws. And Motorola, as always come up with a welcome upgrade with the 2nd Gen. Moto 360.
Motorola India launched their latest wearable the 2nd Gen. Moto 360 in India on December 1st via Flipkart starting from 19,999 Rs. /-. The first Gen. Moto 360 was released more than a year ago and now it is upgraded with a Qualcomm processor and better battery with minor design changes.
Here are the specs as listed by Motorola:

2nd Gen. Moto 360 Opinion:
The 1st Gen. Moto 360 was one of the best designed Android wears around, even today, having that said Motorola kept the design changes minor and focused on other areas. Some aspects such as the processor and the low-resolution display was a concern about the last year’s model. So, the 2nd Gen. Moto 360 gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and a display with 360 X 325 resolution.
And the battery has been increased to 400 MAh for the 46mm model, which should give two days of solid usage. The watch also comes with IPX7 water resistance and wireless charging capabilities.
The watch also has a sport variant in the US which may take a couple of months to reach India. The sport edition has GPS built-in and the special anylight display, it is mainly focused on fitness and outdoor activities.
Verdict: Albeit Android wear has been around for more than a couple of years now, it still has a lot to be tweaked. The fitness tracking is not up to the level of Apple watch. So, the whole Android wear thing seems like a notification center on your wrist. Still, if you’re an early adaptor and you are looking for an Android wear, the 2nd Gen. Moto 360 should be an all-around watch for you. A watch that is a watch first, and looks like one too.
